This renovation project took place at Rottonest Island, a popular tourist destination, known for its stunning coastal views and unique wildlife. We were commissioned by the island authority to complete a significant multi-unit renovation involving the removal and replacement of deteriorated balustrading on the balconies of 49 individual units.
We began by carefully dismantling and removing the deteriorated balustrades from each unit. The removal phase also allowed the team to assess any underlying issues with the structural integrity of the unit.
Once the old balustrades had been removed, the team installed new balustrades made from treated timber. The timber was specifically chosen for its ability to withstand harsh coastal conditions including exposure to moisture, salt air, and strong winds. The treated timber provided both strength and aesthetic appeal, ensuring that the balustrades would remain durable and visually pleasing for years to come.
The project was completed successfully, with the installation of new treated timber balustrades across all 49 units in Geordie Bay.
